For as long as I can remember I have been heavily into any and every kind of sport or fitness activity. I competed at a national level in athletics and played representative football as a junior but these days tend to spend more time in the gym and getting out for a surf as often as possible!

Having started in the industry over 10 years ago my progression towards Rehab Training and interest in understanding and facilitating movement probably stems from my own history. Being forced to recover from multiple knee and shoulder surgeries gave me a significant appreciation of the just how important efficient movement actually is.

From then it’s all been about learning as much as I can on how the body works, what can go wrong and how exercise can be used to correct movement dysfunctional and improve muscular control.

I love the fact that every day I get to use the knowledge I’ve accumulated on movement to fix someone’s squat depth or get rid of that nagging knee pain they get every time they train.

Whilst no two body’s are the same, the principles of how they move are relatively constant. A deep understanding of these ‘principles of movement’ are what shape my approach to exercise rehabilitation whether it’s in the gym or Pilates studio.
